About IT84 Support
IT84 Support is a mobile and remote-first IT engineering service based in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia -- founded on three decades of hands-on experience across small and mid-sized Australian businesses.
A passion for computers and how they benefit people -- kindled in 1990 with strong mentorship -- has shaped every step of this career. What began as a vocation became a commitment to making technology work practically for the businesses and people who rely on it.
For many years, working alongside peers at Vault IT meant supporting larger customers across Australia -- enterprise-grade projects that demanded precision, reliability, and a deep understanding of business operations.
When the direction of Vault IT changed in 2020, a deliberate choice was made: to focus on small and mid-sized businesses while remaining a trusted, local sub-contractor to the larger clients built up over years of relationship.
That continuity mattered. Customers who had relied on the same technician for years did not lose their IT partner -- they kept the same person, now with greater flexibility and a sharper focus on their specific needs.
The core responsibility has always been to look after customers and understand their needs -- bringing in specialist skills when a project demands it. Years of working alongside high-calibre technical partners means those skills transfer, and today significant projects are regularly undertaken within partner and sub-contractor networks.
This means customers get enterprise-level thinking without the enterprise price tag.
After more than 15 years operating professionally in IT environments of every scale, IT84 Support was formally founded in January 2025 -- created specifically to give existing and new customers the dedicated, responsive service they had been seeking.
The name IT84 draws on a classic commercial whose imagery is reminiscent of the film based on George Orwell's novel 1984 -- IT for the work we do, and 84 as a nod to that powerful idea that technology should empower people, not overwhelm them.
